2003	Scarce passage migrant. Two were present at Eldernell on 6 Jan (CK). Singles on the Nene Washes on 20 Apr (SG, CBS) and 17 Dec (RSPB). Singles also recorded at Deeping Lakes NR on 20 Sep (RB, WB), Baston & Langtoft GP on 12 Oct (JJ), Langtoft village on 28 Nov (MC) and Dogsthorpe Star Pit NR on 22 Dec (SPD).
2002	Scarce passage migrant. During 2002 all records came from the Nene Washes. A single bird was present on 23 Mar (RSPB, MC). An influx occurred during May with two present on 10 May (RSPB, BHS, MW) and 17 May (RSPB), up to five present on 18 May (RSPB, BM, WB) and one on 19 May (MO). During the second winter period, two were present on 8 Nov, a single bird on 27 Nov and two on 9 Dec (RSPB).
2001	Scarce passage migrant. The first spring records came on 23 Apr with singles at Hampton Lakes (SPD) and the Nene Washes (RSPB). A long-staying bird was at Deeping Lakes NR 13–25 May (BHS et al). An impressive flock of seven was noted on the Nene Washes (March Farmers) 13 May (MC, BHS), with singles present at this site on 15 May and 21 Jun (RSPB). In the autumn, a single heard and seen flying east with Lapwings at Ferry Meadows CP 23 Sep (MJW) and further singles were seen on the Nene Washes 27-28 Sep and 7 Oct (RSPB), with the last record of one at Prior’s Fen GP from 23 Oct-1 Nov (MW et al).
2000	Scarce migrant. Singles were noted at the Nene Washes on five dates between 30 Mar and 18 Apr. In May, birds were noted moving east along the washes with two on 1st, one on 3rd, and daily between 5-15 May, with two on 5th. One was at Baston & Langtoft GP on 1 May (AB). In the second half of the year, singles on the Nene Washes 30 Sep, 27 Oct and two flew west at Eldernell on 2 Dec.
1999	Scarce migrant. In spring, a single flew east over the Nene Washes on 1 May. One was at Hampton Lakes 4 May (GW) and 5 May (MC). In autumn, a single was at Nene Washes on 7 Aug, with singles here on five dates 11 Oct to 14 Nov.
1998	Scarce migrant. Nene Washes: Two were present on 8-9 Jan, three on 23-24 Mar, three on 8 May, one on 13-16 May, with three at Ring's End on 17 Mar. One was at March Farmers on 5 Jun with three there on 7 Jun and two on 15th. One was present from 5 Oct-3 Nov, with two on 15 Oct and singles on 25 Nov, 2 Dec and 20 Dec.
