2003	Rare winter migrant. A very good series of records during 2003 for an essentially coastal species. A single bird was at Baston & Langtoft GP on 28 Mar (TW, WB); one was also at Ferry Meadows CP between 28 Mar-1 Apr (MO) - pictured left. 2002	Rare winter migrant. A single bird was reported from Ferry Meadows CP on 24 Mar (BTO). A further well-watched single bird was present on the Nene Washes on the RSPB Low Wash between 8-14 May (MO) - pictured left. Image © Steve Dudley. Click for bigger version.
2001	Rare winter migrant. Although a strictly maritime species away from its Arctic breeding grounds, a single bird on the Nene Washes (Eldernell) on 5 Jan (RSPB) was a fairly typical record for the area.
2000	No records.
1999	Rare migrant. Singles at Nene Washes 15 Feb and 15 Oct (CK) and Maxey GP, 15 Mar.
1998	Rare winter visitor. A bird was on Heron Meadow at Ferry Meadows CP on 19 Apr (RAH). Nene Washes: a single was seen on 21 Oct with three on 19 Nov.
